Built for the court, not the desk

Keeping score in padel usually ends with someone losing count mid-rally. PadelScorer lets players call the score out loud or tap large team-coloured zones, then reads the score back after every point so the whole court stays in sync.

Voice recognition is tuned for court distances and wind rather than a quiet office, and any mistake is one tap from undone.

One scoring engine on every screen

The phone, the Wear OS watch and the home screen widget all share the same rules for deuce, advantage, tiebreaks and super tiebreaks, so a point scored from your wrist lands correctly everywhere.

Every finished match is saved with set-by-set breakdowns, serve points, aces, double faults and streaks, and the history exports to CSV.

A live score anyone can follow

The live score link, coming soon, shares a match to any browser with no app needed. Alongside the score sits a small model that estimates each team’s chances from the points played so far, working through the format’s real rules.

My day job is in regulated iGaming, so it is deliberately labelled as entertainment only: no margin, no stakes and no wagering.

How it’s built

One React Native codebase drives the phone app, the Wear OS watch interface and the home screen widget, all shipped in a single app. The scoring rules live in a self-contained engine covered by more than 1,200 automated tests, and match history is stored on the device.

Before anything goes onto a real device, screens are rendered at true phone and watch sizes in a headless browser and checked from screenshots. The live score link runs on Cloudflare Workers, and store listings in all nine languages are managed as code.

What it shows

  • Product thinking

Started from a real problem on court, and designed for noise, wind and sweaty hands rather than ideal conditions.

  • Mobile and wearable UX

Large tap targets, instant undo, spoken read-back and a watch face split into two halves.

  • Privacy by design

No sign-in and no account. The microphone is only used for scoring, and audio is never recorded or stored.

  • Shipping and monetisation

Released on Google Play and kept free with one banner in match history, never on the scoring screen.
